Overview

The Los Angeles Auto Show is an ongoing global phenomenon. A yearly gathering of off-the-charts thinkers. A business magnet for world-class doers. An obsession with Next Gen technologies. The center stage for astounding model debuts. The coronation of imagination. The Big Event. The One and Only. Welcome to LA, folks. Cars Are Us.

And for the past two of its 108 years, Big Honkin’ Ideas has served as the branding and advertising agency for the LA Auto Show. It’s no part-time job.

For starters, BHI rebuilt the Auto Show website. We retired the Show’s 20-year-old logo and did a complete brand makeover. We also, wrote and produced all radio, online and print campaigns. The Agency developed large LED-formatted videos for the visitors at LA Live. We wrapped buses, L.A. Convention Center towers and outdoor boards in addition to posting eye-catching pole banners in high-traffic corridors. We rethought their Show Guide brochures and redesigned everything from in-Show signage to credentials and lapel pins.

In 2013, attendance was up 13% over the year we took over. Of course, we’re aiming higher. After all, nothing worthwhile is ever accomplished by reasonable expectations.
